emily & i have been friends for a few years, and when she called me to photograph her wedding i was thrilled! then she told me her budget, and i had to fight back tears. the upside was she had found this great new venue in winder, constance manor, and was open to having me help with her wedding styling & planning. so in true DIY girl fashion we went straight to google to discover how to make these amazing tree centerpieces (i’ll do a separate blog post on that later) we were seeing everywhere.

after countless hours of research on the internet & several trips to walmart, the dollar tree & home depot we put all of our new found knowledge to work spray painting & assembling emily & ty’s asian/modern inspired centerpieces.

DIY brides please note: you can not do it all! on the morning of emily’s wedding we had 13 people at her venue at 8am to help set up her reception and ceremony. two of those people were myself & traci, out of focus wedding professionals. we were there to help, but also to see that everything was accomplished correctly & in a timely manor. if your event budget doesn’t allow for a large coordinating package we highly recommend you at least book a “week of coordinator” or “day of coordinator” out of focus studios offers both of these options.

a couple years ago we threw our first out of focus studios event, and i realized that i never posted any pictures! so for all of those of you who blog stalk us here is a little insight into where we got our start.

corey & gabe’s wedding gave us a chance to really show off our super fun photo booth!

here’s the skinny if you are interested in having your own:

we will set up a mini photo studio at your event or wedding reception complete with fun props to help your guest express their inner wild side! you & your guest will enjoy two hours of crazy photo booth fun & afterward your photo booth attendant will hand guest personalized cards with a private web gallery link where they can download a high resolution jpeg of their photo booth images after the wedding.

This wedding is nearer and dearer to my heart than most. Corey is the sister of my friend Courtney (another fellow photographer… who also plans events!) Corey is the sweetest, most thoughtful, caring person I’ve ever met. I love her… <3. Courtney planned the entire thing.. like EVERYTHING. Courtney’s not happy unless she has 1,984 things to do at once, so this worked out great for Corey, who only had to make minimal decisions. Wanna know the kicker? The entire venue was built for her wedding (on her parents property) but will also be open to the public for weddings and events. Contact Courtney for more info! The gorgeous flowers and arrangements were created by Bella Blooms. You should definitely use her. She’s amazing (and super sweet)!

if you follow me on twitter or facebook at all you know all i have done is talk about & spray paint for this bridal shower! all of the tea pots, cups, vases, candles holders, cake stands, etc. were bought at the local junk store, antique stores & the goodwill! (never under estimate the goodwill for amazing finds!) this party can also be redesigned for a baby shower, or birthday party.
